IPTV setup and distribution

Set-top boxes configured properly and distributed to every room over the LAN rather than a tangle of splitters. We check your line can carry the streams before we quote.

We check the line before we quote

IPTV is only as good as the connection underneath it. A single high-definition stream is manageable on most Malaysian broadband; four streams running at once in different rooms, while someone is on a video call and the CCTV is uploading, is a different proposition entirely.

So the first thing we do is measure. We test what your line actually delivers at the times you will use it, not the headline figure on the contract, and we look at whether the in-house network can carry the streams to where you want them.

If the answer is that your current connection will not support what you are asking for, we will say so before you have spent anything — and tell you what would need to change.

Distribution done over the network

The common approach is a box beside each television and a tangle of splitters and long HDMI runs behind the furniture. It works until it does not, and diagnosing it later is miserable.

We distribute over the LAN instead. Each room gets a proper network point, the streams travel as data rather than as stretched video signal, and adding a room later is a cable pull rather than a redesign. Where a television is somewhere cable genuinely cannot reach, we use a wireless link sized for the job rather than hoping the house WiFi copes.

We also put quality-of-service rules in place so that video does not starve everything else on the network, and everything else does not stutter the video.

Set-top boxes and configuration

We supply and configure Android TV and similar set-top boxes: firmware current, apps installed and signed in, video output matched to the television, remote paired, and the channel list organised so it is usable by someone who was not there when it was set up.

Content subscriptions are yours — you hold the account with whichever provider you use, and it stays in your name. What we provide is the installation, the network it runs on and the configuration that makes it work reliably.

If you already have boxes, we will configure and distribute those rather than sell you new ones.

Hotels, cafés and waiting areas

Commercial deployments have different requirements from a house: a dozen or more screens, a network that has to keep guest WiFi and television traffic apart, and staff who need to be able to fix the simple things without calling anyone.

We build those as one system — the cabling, the switching, the distribution and the boxes — and leave written documentation of what is plugged in where. Rooms are labelled, and the rack is labelled, so the next person to touch it does not have to guess.

Note that public premises showing broadcast content usually need the appropriate commercial licence from the content provider. That is between you and them, but we will flag it rather than let it come as a surprise.

Common questions

What internet speed do I need?

It depends on how many rooms watch at once and at what quality. Rather than quote a number that may not apply to you, we measure your actual line at the times you will use it and tell you what it will comfortably carry.

Can I watch in several rooms at the same time?

Yes, provided the line and the in-house network can carry it — which is exactly what we check first. Distribution over the LAN rather than splitters is what makes multi-room reliable.

Do you supply the set-top box?

We can supply and configure one, or configure boxes you already own. There is no advantage to us in selling you hardware you do not need.

Is the content subscription included?

No. Subscriptions stay in your name with whichever provider you choose. We install, configure and support the equipment and the network it runs on.

Can you install for a hotel or a café?

Yes, and commercial sites are built differently — separated networks, labelled rooms, documented racks. Note that public premises usually need a commercial licence from the content provider, which is arranged between you and them.
